Default Dash Harness

How do you remove the dash wiring harness. I know the dash and Consolde have to be out of the car but i do not know where to take it out of the firewall.

You have to separate the harness from the forward lamp harness and the engine harness up front by going to the fuse box (located to the left of the brake pedal) and removing the screws. Remember to take pictures of everything that was connected before removing the harness!!!

If I am not mistaken you access the bolts for the fuse block bulkhead in the engine compartment. It has been a while since I did this job but I believe they are out there. Remove the 3 screws and pull the halves apart. They will be stuck together pretty good.
Make sure to take pictures of the routing once you have the dash out, before you remove the old harness. It will be good reference material when the time comes.

The fuse box with Dash, Engine and Forward lamp harness will be three pieces. The main box is the dash side... two screws. Depending on year of your Vette, you can access the engine compartment side via the side fender louver. It will be two integrated halves held in place with one screw in the center that bolts to the fuse box inside. Remove the screw on the engine side first then go inside.

Make sure you disconnect the battery...

One hex head screw in the center and both sides (engine & forward lamp) unplug as one. Then slide them apart sideways if you want to separate.
