Don't know why that link won't work. Do a search on "TPI" for username "markdtn" in the last 6 months and you will find lots of info on swapping in a TPI motor or most of it would be good fot late LT1 too.
cool, thanks. i love all the advice you guys gave... and for now im gonna stick with building up my L-82 to about 400hp, hopefully. with gas prices, and just the simple fact that im gonna need this car as a daily driver for a while, the ram jet is just overkill. im sure youll soon see me asking questions about internals for my 350..... thanks again!
based on what you guys said, and the depth of my wallet, im gonna stick with a small block. should I build the L-82? or go with a new 350.
The L-82 has a 4-bolt main block - all you need is a stroker kit that is balanced. $1000 should get you a good kit (nodular iron crank, hypereutectic (spelling) pistons, rods and so on) - check Summit and Jegs
Machine work on your block should run around $500, depends on location...
Good aluminum heads are around $1000, then add a cam and all the small stuff ... and voila.... for less than $3000 you'll get 400HP
With the 502 monster you'll break stuff ... driveshaft, differential, half shafts..... don't forget to upgrade that - when a half shaft breaks it can hit your butt
