What will I have with this cam?
We just installed a comp 270H-R10 in my 427. Probably get it finished this week. The machinest that put my GM HiPerformance LS-6 heads together sugested it because I have stock exaust and don't need headers.
Just wondering what is she gonna do?

[QUOTE=VETTEVIC]A 270h works best with headers, even on a big block, you may not realize all the power that you are going to be making with that combo without them.

I know your right. I'll be looking at headers in the future. I will run the stock for the winter so I will know the difference when I do headers.

You'll have gobs of low end torque and plenty of mid range power but not alot beyond 5000-5500 RPMs. You won't lose as much on the top end as a bigblock w/ more cam but I agree that headers would still help your combo make better power. If you want a nice cruiser with smooth power delivery you'll be just fine as is.

I ran that cam in my 355 ci, great cam BTW. I agree you could go with a bigger cam in a big block. The CC 270H is a straight up pattern cam that would do better with headers and a less restrictive exhaust.
