guys,
just thought i'd share this with y'all,
i cut 1 coil off the front springs and it lowered my front end by 1 1/2 inches,
it now sits at 28 1/4 inches to fender lip at both sides,
it looks sooo much better,
you can definately feel that it's a harder ride,
oops,
forgot to take pics before,,,may have a few lying around,
will take some later today of what it's like now,
they were just standard springs,,,,,
natt
jughead,
it was sitting at 29 3/4 at the front, must be to do with all the emission stuff i took off, headers, aluminium intake, etc.
it looked stupidly high,
natt
It still looks a little high. My '80 sits a little high in the front; appears that somewhere along the way, a PO replaced the coil springs with higher rate coil springs.
Footnote: Van Steel sells a fair priced coil spring set that are correct. I left town before I was able to have them install on my '80.

Thats interesting. I will be replacing stock heads on my '68 427 with brodix alloys at some point. I have the 'slalom suspension' package currently. For me the set-up is fine although the front end could do with stiffening up a little. Perhaps this will do the trick and restore the ride height following removal of iron heads.
Yes. Are you sure the springs are seated properly? I'm using 550# springs, with a half-coil cut off each. My ride hight went down from 29 inches with OEM springs, to 27.25 inches now.
It all depends on your preferance and the look you're going after. Some of us like it high some low and some like it nose down tail up. With your vector type wheels and tall fat bfg tires...to me it looks fine if you're going for the old school look.
