Default Is this enough clearance?

Need some help here. I have a 1974 coupe that has a 396 big block with power steering and air. The brackets for the alternator, power steering etc. are standard corvette 68-74 big block brackets. I installed a Dewitts direct fit aluminum radiator with the duall 11" fan setup based on input from this forum. My problem is that the upper radiator hose (which is the correct hose) comes really close to touching the alternator pulley. I am talking about 3/8 of an inch or down toi zero depending on where the alternator sits as it pivots. Is this enough? If not, any suggestions? Any way to increase the clearance?

Second question, does anyone know the correct length for the power steering belt for this setup? The belt goes from the crank to the water pump then over to the PS pump pulley. The one I got from a supplier was 43.5 inches but I can't get it over the pulleys. Thanks for any help/suggestions.

The upper hose slides onto the inlet tube about 1.5". You only need about 1/2" of hose behind the bead or the width of the clamp to keep it in place. So if you slide the hose off a little, you should gain an equal amount of clearence from the belt.

I saw in one of the mail order catalogs--don't remember which one-- that there is a sheet metal, fan belt guard that fits between the pulley and the hose. May be a factory repo part or not???
