Now that the temperature outside is dropping, I notice some problems with cold-starting. -69 with Q-Jet
I push the accelerator once, to get the choke on. It starts at once, very easy, and runs smooth, for about 5 sec. Then it starts to run very rough, and I have to help with the accelerator, to keep it going. It feels almost as one cylinder is missing. I have to drive for 5/7 min. before it runs smooth like normal.
I guess this has something to do with choke adjustments. Is it running too rich? too slow idle? choke not pulling off?
Any suggestions?
I am also really wondering if this cable, attached to my choke,
( see picture ) should be connected somewhere??.
I know my carb and my choke are different but, I think that is a ground. My choke has a 12 volt power (red) and a ground (black) going to the frame (in my case grounds to carb, which is grounded by engine). I'm sure some with more experience in your year car will chime in.
