Here are the mounting instructions and some of the hardware.
There are two different rubber grommets that came with it, but only one on the instructions.
Does it matter which I use?
Do I use both?
Should I put one on the inside and one on the outside of the bracket?
How did ya’ll mount them?
Pics of how anyone else mounted them?
Wow - you got instructions with yours! I opened my box - nada...
I just put one grommet on the outside and one on the inside since they looked like a matched pair.
Those STS baffle looks great. I just talked to the guy today and ordered a set. I guess you have to drill a couple of small holes to hold them in, right?

I just put one grommet on the outside of the frame, then the brkt, then a grommet then the flat washer and L/W and nut.
Yes, thats how u mount them, also on the sidepipe to header I used a allen head bolt instead of the hex bolt supplied, easier to get at

Reason: correction
did u paint the STS baffles before installation? it says on the instructions to paint before install and remove and repaint every 2 yrs. make sure to use anti sieze between header and sidepipe for ease of separation in the future

I missed the painting part.
Is POR-15 ok to use on these?
will it hold up to the heat?

Yep just a couple of holes.
No instructions in mine either. I got them off of the web site.

hmmm, interesting thought por-15. i dunno, i just used dupli color high heat enamel. think next yr when i take em out and redo em i'll use por-15 and forget about em. yeah use the por-15, nothing phases that.
Let us know how they sound with the STS inserts. If you are going to be at some public Corvette function around SA, let me know as I'd like to hear them before I make up my mind. I'm leaning towards them, but would still like to hear them first.
To make sure the rectangular tab at the end of the mounting bolts stays perpendicular to the slotted holes on the frame, I ground a slot large enough for a screwdriver at the end of the bolt parellel to the tab. This way the tab can be installed perpendicular to the slot for maaaximum engagement. Sorry I didn;t get pics.
I also used the turbo baffles and they're great.

I used a piece of 0.032 stainless lock wire on each bolt at the base of the threads where they meet the flange. This gives me a way to hold on to the bolt and not loose it into the depths of the frame and take a hour to build a tool to fish it out

Just got an e-mail from Jim (the really cool STS Baffles builder guy ) and he told me that I don't have to do anything to the baffles. The ones that I got are all aluminized material. The guys that have the baffles before the new aluminized units need to pain them and POR 15 would NOT be wise on the baffles.
