Try changing out your plug wires for ones with RFI suppression...

I had a problem with that on an '84 Ford F150; fixed the problem.

Default If you are into making plug wires (I prefer them).....

....get some Ultra 40 Race wires (out of the many available, they are fairly inexpensive and work very well). If you want a ready made set, the Bosch wires are a spiral wound (mag core) core, lifetime guaranteed, and fit pretty well.

Check your radio wiring especially ground. Make sure all connections are tight & clean.

How old is your radio?

there's a ground strap going to the base of the antenna. Check to see if it's there or not.

There should be a radio noise suppression capacitor attached to the back of the alternator. The wire goes to the + terminal screw on the back of the alternator and the capacitor case is grounded to a mounting bolt for alt. Also, make sure no plug wires are touching any of the wires going to the starter, sometimes you can get interference there.

i did this for my custom setup...

hott wire to battery with inline fuse
ground to battery and frame.
don't run ground wire next to hott wire.....

but then again i'm pushin' about 1200 watts and pullin about 60 amps so it might be a bit different....

run a ground wire from your air cleaner to the frame.
