75 wont start need help asap!
1. spark to the plugs?
2. Fuel to the carburetor?
3. Fuel in the tank (there may be fuel going to the carb, but not enough to start if the tank is running on fumes)?
That's a good starting point when you say yes to all the above, then we can go on to timing etc.
PS. Is there anything you did to the car that may have lead to this problem?
Good Luck.
Onle 3 things are needed to make a running engine.
1) Gas
2) Air
3) Spark
Sounds like you've done some of this, but I'll say em anyway.
Throttle the carb manually with the air filter off.
Is there gas squirting into the manifold?
The fuel pump could be dead, or filter plugged.
Pull the distributor cap and crank the engine.
Is it spinning? Is it at the correct position?
With the engine at TDC, it should be pointing at a specific cylinder wire.
(Is it 1? Not sure, can anyone confirm?)
Is it sputtering or backfiring when you crank?
If your getting gas, but the spark is at the wrong time, I would think you would get some ignition or backfires.
Nothing usually means NO fuel or NO spark.
Is the new module connected properly - double check.
Did you remove the spark plug wires from the distributor cap, if so double check the proper firing order - that means tracing each wire from the distributor terminal to see if it goes to the right plug.
