Thanks guys. I've looked at lectriclimted and have heard good things about their products, but if I spend the kind of money they want for a harness, I'll be divorced!! Thats why I want just the original wire and connectors....
By the time you purchased all of the connectors (many of which are no longer available) and colors and gauges of wire, your savings off of the price of a new harness from LectricLimited wouldn't be all that much (what is your time worth?). The suppliers for GM used a special press to attach the connectors to the end of the wire to insure the best possible connection. I doubt you would be able to duplicate this affect with a wire crimper type of hand tool so you may end up with lots of gremlins in your new harness. You did not indicate which harness you are replacing, but if it is the dash harness I would strongly recommend a commercially produced one since this is something you wouldn't want to replace more than once in a lifetime.
LectricLimited has all of the connectors and wire but will not sell you the parts so don't even ask them.
Regards,
Jay

When I was rebuilding my 78's "hacked" harness... I went to a junk yard and pulled a similar year Impala's (or any other GM). I stripped the harness and used the correct wire colors and connectors as the vette....just soldered and shrink wrapped them back where bubba had done his previous magic. Harness was $10.00.
