power steering pully{ HELP}

I need help.
I have put a new crate engine in my 71 coupe and the power steering pully rubs the frame.
I had noticed that it rubbed when I bought the car but figured it was due to worn out mounts, but not the case now as they are new mounts.
I have A/C so have to use the outside crank pully. The pully itself is 5 5/8 or 5 3/4 , can't quite see the tape.
I have been told I could shim the motor mounts, as they shim Big blocks, but can't find any shims in the Ecklers catalog.
I could use a smaller pully, if I could find one, even tho it would spin a little faster.

Does anybody have any good ideas?

Check the transmission cross-member. Often, they get bent upwards on speed-bumps, etc., causing the trans./engine to tilt. Also, make sure you are using the right length p.s. belt.

I have the power pump all the way up with a tight belt.
How can I tell if the cross member is bent up beyond specs?

It should look straight from frame side rail to side rail. No upwards arch at all.

Have you heard of shimming the motor mounts?
Just thinking of anything I can.

I can't believe I am the only one who has had this problem, judging from the responses.
Does any one know where I can get a smaller pully?
