Back together and running
ahh, yes! she back together and running
After having the engine out and replacing the cam and several other pieces and parts...going through the tranny etc, I got it all back together tonight and fired it up. After a couple of "challenges" with the ps pump leaking and fan blade scraping the shroud, I ran through the break in on the cam and all seems to be well.
I want to thank a few members personally for the help...JCGD3...couldnt have been a success without you...Lars...the paper on the distributor install was awesome...I followed the directions to the T and the timing was near perfect from intial firing...thanks for noticing that I had a 68 and sending me the additional data for the 68 variance on the dist cap setup.
Now hopefully I can enjoy it for a bit!
I have some pics of the final project, but need to pull them off the camera. Stay tuned!
I took out a comp cam (292h) and replaced it with the stock cam (similar to comp cam 151h but I didnt buy from CC)...the difference is really felt in the low end...which is what I was looking for...I like it better for daily driving...and a bit more vacuum for the vac operated stuff. The previous cam was like a rocket once you got over 1500 rpm's, but not so good getting to 1500 or so...big difference in early responsiveness.
