Sometimes after driving My 77 L48 all day w/no problems, I will turn the key and get nothing. If I let the car sit for 30 to fourty minutes, it wiil then start right up. Any ideas?
OK, different approach. Had that problem with my white79. Turned out to be a connection problem at the battery. Not really loose, just not making a good connection. Try disconnecting the cables and tightly reconnecting them.
Former owner would disconnect pos. cable when parking it. I drove it home 1000 miles after purchase knowing I would have a restart problem as he had told me about it. Tried jumping it first time it happened, no luck. But then it started right up afterward. Jiggled the cable just enough to make a difference(it did feel tight).
Got it home and installed a cutoff switch on the neg cable. Wouldn't start. Tightened the connections as much as possible with the 5/16th wrench and haven't had a problem since. Wished I had tried tightening cables before my long trip!
