ok i usually drive my vette about once or twice a week. last week i noticed when i got out of my car the interior lights were on but they werent switched on totally fustrated i removed the bulbs for the time being not to drain battery. then i went to start and needed a jump once started everything was fine. i let the car sit for a couple of days and now not even lights or radio.
it has a new battery and new altenator. whats going on. my dad suggested a battery diconnect switch stating that c3 had these problems. whats the deal?
First things first..it would be nice to know what year your Vette is. You can put it in your profile or signature. Your interior lamp timer may be defective..on 78 to 82's. Make sure your vanity mirror light and under-hood light are not staying on. G/L

Not to be sarcastic Big_G but I believe you can find his year in the title as in "78 battery problem"[U]
Anyway he's right about the timer delay. I removed my delay and rerouted the wires to each other so I still have interior lights, just no delay. It's found inside the glovebox and is a little red box about an inch square. You just have to remove the glovebox insert and you should see it in there. I also put in a main battery disconnect anyway
I dont know anything about vette's compared to these guys, but I bought a battery disconnect at Advanced Auto for under $10. I was having problems with my battery draining from the clock or something. ( never really looked into it. ) So everytime I know Im not going to drive it for over 3-4 hours I just lift the lever behind the Driver seat. Nifty.
Lae 78 production cars had the delay timer on the right hand side behind the glove box (it's orange). Early production 78s had it on the driver's side.
