Default Exhausting questions...

I had been considering staying with the stock "m" manifolds on the 76 ... still have the stock style exhaust on it, y pipe to stock style and sounding, (blech) dual mufflers ... no cat on there ... I am gonna step up to true dual exhaust and probably Flowmasters ... so I got three questions ..

1.. is there a horsepower (in real life) increase with headers and 2.5 inch exhaust ...
2.. does the Flowmaster kit fit like it says in the advertising
3.. FOR THE FLA MEMBERS... is there a good exhaust shop in the orlando area

I can do the welding just dont have a lift or access to one for that matter and with my exhaust already hanging I want it done right .. got one qoute today for approx 350 for tru duals from the manifolds ...havent been anywhere else yet so I dunno

Headers and dual exhaust are one of the best bang for the buck in the HP department.

No kit is a direct fit. They will all need some type of altering. Take it to someone who has the proper bending equipment and the ywill be able to make it fit right.

On My 76 I Put On Duals With The Stock Manifolds With No Cat'what A Power Increase.I Did Not Go With Headers Because Of The Heat They Put Under The Hood And I Know Fla.summers Get Hot.
A K&N Air Filter Is A Grate Inprovement For The Money.

An "H" pipe between the duals will also give a bit more kick....and help mellow out the flowmasters.

I did consider the heat factor on the headers .. figured I would just wrap them to combat that ... always worked good on my bikes ... but now I might be thinkin bout having my manifolds opened up ... got a few friends that are machinists ... thanx for the tip on the "H" pipe ... I think I am just gonna find a good hot rod exhaust guy here locally ... had a good one in CA but I aint drivin that far for pipes ...
