I think you can do better they don't give enough info on the parts they are using and it seems like they refurbishing the heads. I would look at other sources including GM. I bought my crate engine from AR Racing along with others on this forum, I can only speak for myself but I am very happy with what I got they sell a lot of 383s on e-bay and have a good rating there. Good Luck

I'm shopping for a 383 for a while now, most likely buy the block and rotating assembly separately and assemble at home..

$2000 for a assembled 383 engine ? This will have the cheapest parts in it, not saying it's junk but it's not a performance SB that you'd want in your C3....

A machined block is roughly $500-$800
The cheapest (all cast) rotating assembly is about $400, all forged about $1600
The gaskets, camshaft, oil pump, valve covers, timing chain and cover - that's maybe $200-$300
Good heads are $1000 - those that they're using are cast iron but still cost some $$$

At $1999 it seems they don't get a lot for assembling the engine It's almost like the $16.99 oil changes - how can they do that and make a profit ??? You get what you pay for...
