Thanks Dave for the reply I will check into that.
$2000 for a assembled 383 engine ? This will have the cheapest parts in it, not saying it's junk but it's not a performance SB that you'd want in your C3....
A machined block is roughly $500-$800
The cheapest (all cast) rotating assembly is about $400, all forged about $1600
The gaskets, camshaft, oil pump, valve covers, timing chain and cover - that's maybe $200-$300
Good heads are $1000 - those that they're using are cast iron but still cost some $$$
At $1999 it seems they don't get a lot for assembling the engine
It's almost like the $16.99 oil changes - how can they do that and make a profit ??? You get what you pay for...
