4 speed tranny problem..
Rolled it onto the tow truck.
Got home and it wouldn't roll off the truck.
For all intents and purposes, it appears to be stuck in gear although the stick is in neutral.
I looked at the linkage, nothing too obvious there.
Does anyone know the positions of the linkage at various gears? What does it look like in neutral?
Thanks!
There are 2 lever arms on the side cover and 1 on the tailhousing. The Tailhousing one is reverse and the lever closest to the engine id 3/4 gear and the lever to the rear of the cover is 1/2 gear selection. The neutral position is with the side cover arms in the 12:00 position. The lever move the forks/sliders in the tranny to engage the syncros and the gear. The Reverse gear is a direct gear engagement.
What happened?

It locked the tranny into gear, but rolling the car back and forth seems to have disenganged the tranny from the engine.
However, you can now shift from any gear without the clutch.
It's at a shop right now, found a good mechanic for it.
As for the engine, I have a bad feeling that it's a goner. More details to follow as usual....
