Default Valve train noise

I have a rattling sound(?) coming from the right side of the engine under accerlation. I thought it might be a exhaust leak and replaced the gaskets. The car is slugish under hard accerlation and was wondering what the signs of weak / bad valve springs are.....the engine is a 383 10.25 compression, low rpm torque roller cam, rockers, stock l-82 heads and TPI.

Tpi timing is controled by ecm and has no advance, base it set at 8* advance.Ecm shows no retard under heavy load. The lash appears to be fine. The noise doesnt sound like detonation, more of a mechanical noise.
So what are signs of worn springs?

Valve float at high RPM's....no help but to the top. Maybe someone smart will see it.
