Specs are in my sig. I might have gone for a hotter cam. The 262 cam seems very mild. But I do have tremendous bottom end power and good vacuum.

383, 10.2:1CR, AFR 195s, Port matched Victor Jr, 1.6 roller rockers, and custom comp billet roller cam...specs will be posted as soon as i make a decision on what I want.
I had a 240/246 flat tappet cam in before, and I hated it..Mid-range and top end power was awesome, but street manners was awful.

Click on my Avatar and you can see my Stroker. I run forged crank\rods\pistons, 4-bolt Trunk (TWZ) block, AFR 190 Heads, Edelbrock Torker II Intake, Barry Grant Speed Demon 750cfm carb, Headman Headers, Hydraulic Roller Cam & lifters, Roller Rockers, HEI Tach Drive Dist., double roller chain.

I have not dynoed yet, but should be getting around 385 RWHP or over 400 Flywheel HP. Very fun to drive with lots of torque.

Next time I will use studs vs bolts, maybe in the future I might go to a FI system or the Barry Grant 3-duce setup.

Good stuff guys!! Those all look sweet......I'm still working on my setup. I have decided when I take the block in for boring, to allow them to assemble the crank and rotating assembly. At this time I'm looking at a David Vizard recommendation which has the following:

Crank: Scat cast steel

Pistons: probably Silvolite Keith Black signature series KB 122 Hyperutectic

CR: 9.8:1

Rods: Scat 6-inc full floating

Cam: Comp cams 270 H on 106* LCA

Lifters: Comp cams High Energy

Valve train: Comp cams Magnum roller tip

Oil Pump: reworked stock

Pan: Moroso Basic Street

Heads: fully ported World SR Torquers

Headers: ? Not sure.........

Exhaust: Already true dual exhaust.

Carb. : EB 750 cfm (already have)

Intake: EB performer (already have)

Now this is a low cost build, but is suppose to deliver 421hp @ 5250 rpm. 445 ft/lb. of torque.

I think I can build this with machine work for between $ 2500-3000 with me doing the engine breakdown, and reinstall.

I'm open for suggestions..........

Im running one, just not in the vette. I have a camaro drag car too. It's a GM block, splay capped, forged crank, billet rods, JE nitrous pistons, AFR 215 RR heads with holley commander 950 EFI. It makes 500 RWHP NA and 730 on the bottle. I don't have any complaints, Im looking for more cubic inches now, it has been a great engine!

Edelbrock Vic. jr. heads, Crower solid roller cam 00426S (250/252, .570/.584), Vic. jr. intake, holley 750 dp. carb., Crower Sportsman 6 in. rods, Scat 4340 crank, Hooker super-comp. headers. 330 rwtq, 330 rwhp. Cam is too big, heads too big also. Something to work on this winter....

Looks like a nice motor. But I dont understand how you could do this for $2500-$3000 unless you already have most of the parts. I would think double that amount. Machine work alone could take $900 with clearancing.

Get a real intake manifold if you expect to turn over 5000 rpm

I'd definitely change a few things in my set up and I only have 100 miles on the motor.

Here's a link to the web page with specs and pics.

I think I should have gone with a slightly bigger cam and tried to fit the RPM intake instead of the Performer EPS.

While it's out definitely get a stall converter - which I didn't do and now I need to.

I built mine with stronger parts than necessary in case I get the "fever" anymore than I already have it. The car is a 4 speed with 3.70 gears.

4 bolt block, Scat 4340 forged crank, Scat 4340 forged H-beam rods, JE forged pistons, a HV oil pump and a 7 quart Canton pan. The cam is a Comp XE274. I have Sportsman 2 heads with Crane energizer roller rockers, Performer RPM intake and a Holley 750 vac. secondary. I run Hooker headers and pipes and a GM distributor with a MSD 6A. I run a Griffin alum rad with a 15" electric fan from a Ford WIndstar(next year I'll also have the 13" unit from the same vehicle)

ON DD2000 This engine has about 415 HP @6000 and 410ft-lbs @4500.

I only have around 300 KM on the engine but here's what I would change:
RPM intake would go to a Victor Jr or Team G
Carb would go to a 750 DP from a Vac secondary
Install an oil cooler(winter project)
change to a lighter weight flywheel
install a 6" balancer vs the 8 I'm running.
I might change to a nastier cam(in a budget free world--- it would be Hyd roller)

Mine is much more tame than the previous combos, but here goes.

383 stroker, cast pro topline 180 heads, comp 270HR cam, 9.5 compression, Performer EPS intake, Edelbrock 750.

I had always planned on changing the heads to AFR 180's but I have some dished pistons to get the compression down to 9.5 with the 64cc. Hind site, I should of gone with the 72cc heads so that I could of put flat top pistons in so that I could run smaller chamber aluminum head to get the full potential of the heads(need higher compression for aluminum heads). I also went with 1.52 rockers which from the pro topline head flow that I have seen I should of gone with the 1.6's. The other thing I would like to change is the intake, but I cannot fit the RPM intake under the stock hood(not without a super short air filter, which I believe would defeat the purpose).

Hope that helps.
Michael

Keep in mind that the machine shop is only boring, facing, installing crank, and balancing. This is not a complete rebuild at the shop.........

Now it might cost more, but not much. Parts alone will run about 2G's, that leaves 1G for labor at shop!

We will see, soon...........

See my signature.

I like the internal balance. Costs a couple of bucks more, but I think it is worth it.

See my signature...
I'm running high 12's on the street tires listed with it.

Possible changes to motor:
- get timing working under the C950 kit
- more aggressive camshaft / hydraulic roller cam (currently running a Comp Cams XE274H)
- fix the #%#! oil leak I induced with the intake/head swap last summer

4 bolt gm block, 6" scat rods. 4340 eagle crank, ross flat tops, 64 cc ported edelbrock rpm heads w.2.055" intake. port matched victor jr. manifold, 825 mighty demon carb, compcam solid flat tappet 252 @ .05" with .570 net lift intake, 262 at .050", .595"net lift exh. 1.6 roller rockers, msd ignition, hooker 1.625" primary headers. I would have bought AFR 210 heads & super comp headers. more than enough low to mid, but believe I'm leavin some top end on the table...
