Best Route: 6speed vs 5speed....
Tremec's site itself says that T-5 transmissions are rated anywhere from 175-300 lb./ft. of torque.

In the post above, I refer to the T-56 that can handle 550 lb./ft. of torque. Here are its stats-

You can have a 0.64 overdrive on the T-5 or a nominal difference of 0.63 6th gear ratio on the T-56. The two can be all but equal in that regard, you just get one more gear with the T-56. Quarter mile gearing can be altered by changing differential gears or even tire size. Don't let a transmission stop you in that regard.
Don't get me wrong, the T-5 has its place in the world, but Corey_68 shouldn't install it with his 468ci big block; Solely going by the factory numbers though. If Keisler beefs up the T-5, then the factory numbers don't mean anything.
