It is not a transmission for a 4 cylinder econopile so it shifts differently. Personally, I prefer that the shifts have a solid feel to them rather than buttery soft. I love the way it shifts and don't have any complaints. I hate the way BMW cars shift, for instance.

Tremec's site itself says that T-5 transmissions are rated anywhere from 175-300 lb./ft. of torque.
http://www.ttcautomotive.com/English/products/T-5.asp

In the post above, I refer to the T-56 that can handle 550 lb./ft. of torque. Here are its stats-
Part Number: TUET1806
Weight: 115-129
TQ Rating: 550
GVW Rating: 3,460

You can have a 0.64 overdrive on the T-5 or a nominal difference of 0.63 6th gear ratio on the T-56. The two can be all but equal in that regard, you just get one more gear with the T-56. Quarter mile gearing can be altered by changing differential gears or even tire size. Don't let a transmission stop you in that regard.

Don't get me wrong, the T-5 has its place in the world, but Corey_68 shouldn't install it with his 468ci big block; Solely going by the factory numbers though. If Keisler beefs up the T-5, then the factory numbers don't mean anything.
Don't look at the T-5 spec's at Tremec's web site, look at the TKO's.
