You can see from my sig that my current cam is a XE-282-HR. The specs @ .05 are 230/236 and .510/.520. I am installing a set of AFR 210's that have been Competition ported. They have better flow numbers than the Dart 215's. I have a recommendation from Crane and Comp Cam but I would like to get some forum input as well. The car is a weekend driver that will see some strip time.
Im running a Comp cams solid roller in my 427sb with dart pro 1 230s
Lift .616/.622
@.50 248/254
Lsa 112
small base circle
theirs a slight lope to it , not what im use too,and the vacumn is good too .
I might try something a little more radical later, other than that the engine just gets it.
If you want a cam that has good idle and vac this is the one.
No track time yet or dyno,Id like to find out myself what hp is ,Im afraid of going to the track and leaving my rearend there,
I have done nothing to the rearend except carbon fiber halfshafts ,offset t/a .
My next motor will be a 434 ,is that a 4.155 bore x4.00,I wonder if i can get a bigger bore,4.165 or 4.185
From: Who says "Nothing is impossible" ? I've been doing nothing for years.
Put a solid roller in there, I have the Comp Cams XR280R in my 406ci and I love it, specs are in my sig. It shakes real nice at idle, you could go 1 or 2 sizes bigger
What would be the benfit of going with solid rollers instead of hydrolic?
I have read that solid rollers have lubrication problems when used in street applications.
