Default summit roller rockers

Im in the process of getting the parts to rebuild the top end of my '77 L48.
Looking at getting a set of summit alu 'annodized blue' roller rockers-1.5 ratio.
Will be using with edelbrock rpm heads(64cc) a voodoo '01' cam(213/219, 454/468) and +.100 rods.

Will they clear (L82 style) factory aluminium valve covers?
Are they a direct fit for these heads?
Would i be better off getting the 1.6 ratio for this set-up?

Any info appreciated

I don't know if they will clear the valve covers!! Call summit tech support they may be able to help you. But get the 1.6 .

I've found out from experience that they do not fit under the stock valve covers if they have the large hex lock nut whick most do. If you want to keep the stock appearance you could go with the stamped rockers with roller tips. Jegs has a nice set part number 778-66906 for $104.99

I agree that they probably will not fit. An alternative solution is to get the rocker cover spacer. It's about 1/2 inch thick and goes between the head and the cover, along with two gaskets. This provided the clearance that I needed for my 81 covers. These spacers are available at Summit as well (around $70 as I recall).

Thanks for the replies. mmmm, i may go with a decent set of roller tips now.
May sound like a dumb question- but if i go with 1.6 ratio, are these heads gonna need rod slot clearancing?

They sure will, and in fact it would be prudent to check your pushrod clearance when using 1.5 ratio rockers.

I have AFR 195's with Comp Cams full roller rockers running a 555 lift roller cam and they fit under stock LT-1 valve covers no problem. Summit roller rockers did not fit.

Are your CC full roller rockers STEEL or ALUMINUM ... 1.5 or 1.6 ... top of stud 3/8" or 7/16"?

I ran these exact same rockers on my 69 Camaro with a 400 sb. It had stock valve covers and no clearance problems.

With 1.6 or 1.5 roller rockers with the poly lock nuts, you will have to machine about half of the drip thingies off. Tall valve covers interfered with my AC compressor, which has since been removed.
