Starting Engine without wiring harness
I think I've posted this before, but I'll do it again.
I want to break in my engine but all the dash wiring and engine harness wiring were removed long ago during my resto/mod of my '77 L-82. If I can use my new battery cables and battery along with some short 10-ga wire jumpers I would like to do it. I also seem to recall that I didn't have to have the alternator connected as long as I had a fairly good battery with a good charge sufficient to run the engine.
The question is this: How should I connect the wiring for this?

Pick up 12 volts (supply) at the starter and run thru a fuse then run to a remote starter (push button) from there run one wire to the starter solinold and a second wire to a toggle switch (off-on) go from the other side of switch to the possitive side of the coil.
