Quick Disconnects for Battery

Thanks!

They do offer different options and one includes with charging and one without. I don't know what that means yet.

I got a few extra catalogues with my last coleman catalgue and they have some really nice disconnects. One will go in my car before next summer. I just haven't picked one yet. They do offer different options and one includes with charging and one without. I don't know what that means yet.

I am going to represent The Vette Club at the annual San Diego International Auto Show in December. They picked two entries from each generation out of club cars, to be in the show.
For the fire marshall's requirements, I need to have no more than a quarter-tank of gas (they check it at the entry to the facility) and a way to disconnect the battery for the five days the car will be on the floor. It's a cool deal and my wife and I get 'Exhibitor' badges that allow us in the show all week for as many hours as we can stand.

I just have to deal with having the Vette outta my sight and my garage for a week

For a bypass, you can just install an inline fuse around the cut-off switch. Just use a large enough fuse to power the the radio and alarm. Or plug in one of these with the battery disconnected and it will power most radios in good light...

Do you want me to mail you one? I bought two just because it was the same on shipping. It's a removable red key type. I just cut my big positive and solder on the copper lugs. I don't worry about my battery drining down when the car sits on days like today when it's lightly snowing.

It's based on a magnet switch, I carry a magnetic key on my key ring and just pass it over my rear wheelwell above my drivers side tire without touching my Vette body and the mag switch changes to off or on. But it has a optional auxilliary hot feed (if you want it hooked up) to feed the clock or car computer (if you have one).
I can also if I wish insert the key to kill all power including the aux. power feed but if I use this method I must turn it back on again with the key to reset back to magnet again. This complete unit is installed inside the rear compartment of the drivers wheelwell, it took me about 1 1/2 hrs to hook it up. Anyone with a steel body car can not use this system only those of us with fiberglass bodies. I tried a passing normal magnet over it to see if I could switch it and it won't work for what ever reason. Only the mag key does that came with the unit.
It's made by MagTech and cost me I think $100.00 US. and is rated up to 750 amps.
If you need a address or name where I ordered it from I'll post it in this thread.

Here's where I bought mine from, it's the MagTech one.
