Does anyone have any knowlege of GM welding up the smog holes in a Exahaust manifold? I have one that has the holes in it ,the plugs are also in it and ,the holes are welded over.You can hardley tell they are there.except from the inside. It looks like it was done at the factory.

I sincerely doubt that the factory did that. Bubba, yes, but not the factory. If they needed manifolds without the AIR tubes, they would just not machine the bosses in the manifold for the system.
Welding cast iron would, from a bean counter's perspective at GM, be a bad thing when compared to the cost of doing nothing at all.
