Is there anything special about this filter?? Micron sizing or some valid reason you just cant use a good in-line fuel filter available at any parts store?

I think Hoover makes good vacuum filters. Have you tried Filter Queen and Electrolux too?

IMOP it's just good enough to keep the big pieces out. A fuel filter is probably overkill. The tiny filters on other things such as vacuum controls is simply a piece of felt.

The drawback to fuel filters is probably their nipple size.
The wrong nipple size can really ruin your day.

The filter prevents large particles from being sucked back into the intake manifold and is available from most Corvette parts vendors for less than $10. With our C3's being anywhere from 23 to 37 years old, it is a good idea to make sure that you have this filter in your vacuum system!
