Default 82 Wouldn't start.

Took the 82 through the BK drive through then to a friends house.
Ate a BK JR. then went to start the car and got nothing, no click,
nothing. Made sure it was in park and also tried in netural still got
nothing. Let it cool down for about 10 more minutes, then it started
right up. This is the third time it did that, even after I added a heat
blanket around the starter. Anyway I changed the starter and installed
the new Accel ignition module and Accel Super coil, new cap and rotor.
Replaced plugs about two weeks ago. Hopefully this resolves the
no start problem.
Where's that cross-finger smilie?

Sounds like a battery problem. How old is the battery? Are the battery cables clean and making a good connection?

I agree on the battery. If the battery is old this year of Corvette will not do anything, including making the solenoid click. If the battery is good then check the engine ground cable. It is a short cable that is the thickness of a regular battery cable that mounts under the passenger side frame motor mount and then connects to the top of the starter support bracket. This bracket is L shaped. Make sure both sides have star washers to ensure proper connection. The other area to look at is the negative cable that runs from the battery to underneath the car and mounts to the frame crossmember. Make sure there is a good connection here also. Make sure there is a star washer here also. Some people never put these washers back on and they make a big difference. In areas that have a lot of rain or snow these connections are suseptable to rust.
I hope this will be of some help to you

Check the plug that has the main wires running down to the starter, it's is usually right next to the AC box on the passenger side by the firewall...

Non-weatherpack

Desertdawg might have something. I had the same thing happen to me many times. I did all the nomal things and I never knew if it was going to start. Check the voltage from the ignition to the starter. Mine was dropping for some reason. I(my mech.) simply ran another wire.. rather than try to trace the problem. It's fixed! I probably need to clean that connection, tho. Larry

I fixed an awful lot of electrical problems on both my vettes just by cleaning connectors. It's amazing what some green fuzzy corrosion will prevent from happening.
