BBC Dimple rods, how good are they.
I am tossing around the idea of replacing the rods in my 454. They are BBC dimple rods with Milodon bolts (they may even be L-88 rods). They are definitely the weak link in my rotating assembly (steel crank, JE nitrous pistons, good pins, etc.) The reason for the possible swap is the fact I want to spin this motor to 7000+ rpms and hit it with a 250 shot. As all this is going through my head I am saving up my money to finish the 555 I am working on, so I would rather put the money there.
Who has spun the heck out of their dimple rods and had them survive. Any broken ones out there ??

Change out the bolts,On many aftermarket rods the bolt upgrade increases the hp limit,Call arp tell them what you have and want to do they will explain what is needed, probably arp2000 wav-loc or L19,We have a chevelle up here with those rods/bolts that sees close to7800rpm no nitrous, Is that converter trashed?

Changing the bolts is a good idea, ya the converter is trashed. I pulled the tranny yesterday, metal shavings everywhere.
