Default holley float bowl crap??

Hi,
I have a 71 LT-1 with a holley, my question is... how is stuff getting into the float bowls. It looks like small particules of crap, It got past the fuel filter after about 2000 miles from the last time I cleaned them. It almost looks like hardened Gasket shellack.
I use Stabil when I store the car for the winter and Im starting to wonder if thats what it is, has anyone else had this problem?
Thanks;

How often do you run your car? Could it be that the gas is evaporating leaving behind it's varnish looking residue? I wonder how long it take for gas to evaporate from the carb?

That's exactly what it is. Remains of old, dried up gasoline. It takes solvent and scrubbing to remove it all. G/L
