Default Demon Triple D Six-Shooter

Anyone running one of these setups? I've always been in awe of 6-pack carbs & think it would look great on the 383 I'm going to build for my 79. I would welcome anyone's experiences or opinions.

Yeah, well there you go. They got a lot of balz asking that price ($2300 at Jeg's). I guess the intake is a low production item & they have to charge a lot to recover the engineering costs, but you can easily price yourself out of the market. I looked at a Tremec kit yesterday, priced over $4k. A performance 700R4 is only $2k with the rest left over for the engine. Think I'll stay with tried & true.

looks cool, but I have enough of a time getting one carb to work. I can't image the hassle of 3 carbs and then having to Sync them all also!

I love mine..............the kit is complete, gaskets, fasteners, everything you need to connect other than the pump to fuel log line.

And the sound when they all open up is addictive (though not too good for fuel consumption).

That's not much more expensive than the old 3 barrel factory setup that my dad bought totally rebuilt (with chrome goodies and a coated manifold). I think for all new parts, its not that bad of cost considering the options if you REALLY want tri-power. Lets face it 3 carbs are going to be expensive .

One problem I saw right off is they are under engineered. The the Demon triple intake ports are tiny. They are port matched to FelPro gasket size 1204 or something like that which is stock head intake port size.

So if you have something like AFR 195 heads your intake is smaller than the head port. So they were not meant to be used on a performance car.

So it's another all show and no go item!

Have to disagree, the dyno results are better than an Air-Gap and single carb (for hp and torque)
Plus I would expect to port/gasket match any none race style intake that was going on high dollar aftermarket aluminum heads.

Sixshooter package: 383 HP @ 5700 rpm, 402.9 lb-ft torque @ 4200 rpm

Air-Gap/Speed Demon 650: 370 HP @ 5800 rpm, 390.2 lb-ft torque @ 4400 rpm.

That’s +13 HP and +12 lb-ft torque over the Air-Gap/Speed Demon 650 combination.

You can't do that. If you open up the output end of a tuned runner port to gasket or port match it to a larger head it's ruined. A correctly tuned induction port starts big and continues to get smaller as it gets to the valve head.

In your application it made more power. That's great. It's also just what I said, they were designed for the lower performance market. That is the sub 400 hp machines with smaller heads ports

I am running an Offenhauser 3 x 2 with 59 chevy rochester carbs on my custom 63. It is MUCH more responsive than the single plane intake and 750 double pumper that was on there when I bought the car with more power thoughout the rpm range and no dead spot. As far as syncronising the carbs, all you have to do is adjust the stop on the linkage to determine when the front and rear start to engage and make sure they are all wide open at full throttle. These are easily rebuilt, reliable and sound awesome when you open then up. I added an electric choke. I also got close to 20 MPG Chicago to Detroit for the Woodward Ave Dream Cruise with a 327, T 10 and 3:55 gears running 75 MPH plus. Wouldn't have anything else on it after driving this setup!
