Default a compartment question

I would like to try and fit a 80 style compartment into a 69 since it would allow for a little more space.. are they roughly the same size or not even close...

thanks

Catalogs show 68-79 as all being the same parts. 1980(really late, late79) saw the changeover to 2 compartments. No structural changes made. Ought to work fine.

Same size, different doors. You need the whole assembly.

You need a whole junk assembly with the hinge rod and all. I've done it in mine. Buy the kit and remove the old door frames, put old doors with new carpet on new frames. You also must cut down the metal panel that goes behind the seats by about an inch or 2 so the doors can open (new fixed handles hit the top edge). I really like the plastic tray instead of the fiberboard. Great swap.
