I've heard good things about Sachs clutches, although I have a Ram clutch in my car, and the price wasn't that much different (I have an M20). My brother is running a Luk clutch on his M-22, and that has been through many hours of autocrossing, and its still holds great. A lot of people on the forum were big into centerforce, but some guys have had problems with vibration due to the design...so I'm kind of reluctant to use one of those. I'm sure the Sachs will work fine for your machine. Check back here for advice if you're going to replace it yourself, plenty of info on the forum for doing that.
I have a HD Sachs clutch behind my 525hp 496, so far so great. I bought the clutch when I bought my 5 spd from Keisler. After doing a little bit of research I found out that Sachs is the OEM supplier to alot of big companies one of which being Porsche. Also I have heard that alot of F1 cars use Sachs clutches, but I cannot verify this for certain, this is just what someone told me.
I am looking for a new clutch for my '69 coupe, 350 with 4 speed muncie. Not a racing machine, just a driver.
I was going to pick up an AC Delco unit, but then I found a deal on a Sachs kit for less than half the price.
Has anyone ever heard of Sachs cluthes? Good, bad or ugly?
TIA
Dave
I have had great luck with Luk (pun intended ) and Centerforce. The Centerforce was used in a 327 and the Luk in a 454. If you do a search in the archives you will find a number of references to both of these units. Nice fit, no cussing, just like OEM.

My son fried the clutch in one of my other Chevy's a few years ago. Replaced it with a Ram Clutch from PAW. Hundreds of burnouts later, still holding up fine. Only takes slightly more than stock pedal effort.
Last spring I put a centerforce 2 behind a new 406 and a new flywheel. Works very well. HP is 400 plus. It took some getting used to the new clutches mid-stroke spring feel, but I rather like driving it now. When you let out the clutch, you get all the power right now. No problem with chatter or adjustment. My car is a 69 also, wifes daily driver in the good weather.
i used the centerforce and found it to be an excellent clutch. many on this forum said they were troublsome. i also have used ram from paw and have always had good usage. love paw
