Just learned an unpleasant lesson last week regarding Modine radiator.
For decades, many of us have relied on Modine radiators as one of the "cadillacs" of rads ... good old USA-made Modine.
Well ... no more!
Modine has officially left the aftermarket radiator market ... verified by reading same at modine site. In mid-2005 Modine apparently sold their good name to once "transpro" and the new company name is "proliance." Modine still in business in a big way ... but not in aftermarket radiators.
Ordered a Modine rad for pal's 96 chev fullsize PU ... through proliance ... distributor told me Modine moved all rad tooling to mexico & setup shop along w/ transpro. Sure enough ... rad arrived ... had Modine on box .. but had both modine & transpro numbers on it ... and clearly labeled "made in mexico".
Got news for ya fellows ... if you order a Modine now ... you won't be getting what you've been accustomed to ... it ain't a real Modine.
At least they aint made on China, any one remember when they were younger (1950's) if you had a toy that said made in japan it was most likely crap , now china has that honor, but in everything not only toys. Kinda hard to lay down yer bux for anyhting today without reservations ! Peace,,,Moosie
Maybe Modine were okay, but in my experience they sucked, my 79 vette had a Modine in it dated 4-86 when in bought it in late 96, radiator leaked bad from everywhere. so I replaced with guess what???, because GM stopped making the specific radiator for my vette, another Modine radiator, I got 5 yrs out of that one before it was spewing from all directions, so now I'm running an 84-92 camaro plastic/alum radiator, I got from Autozone for $117, lifetime warr.
I have no experience with Modine, but tend to like transpro. I went through the same experience as you had when I ordered a replacement radiator for my '81 Chev. pickup. The first two I got were smashed by poor packing, or UPS excesses. Tried a different vendor, which happened to be transpro, and there was a world of difference in the radiator and the packing. Shipping box was twice as wide as previous two boxes and radiator was packed with the foamed-in-place stuff that conforms to the shape of the product. Looked like you could have dropped the box out of an airplane with no damage. I even contacted the other vendor and suggested they change to transpro. As previously said, Mexico now makes quality products compared to China.
Wolf.

Perhaps Bush senior was being referenced, seems like that he was behind N.A.T.A. if i remember correctly. jim
not sure if elder bush was involved, but clinton passed the N.A.F.T.A. act that allowed companies to leave the us. preppare for more of the same when hillary destroys what little is left of america.

God help us if she get's elected. Then we are only to blame.....
After selling out their good USA-made name & supposedly moving production to Mexico ... Modine just threw more fat on the fire.
Just last week I was in back of local parts store ... there was a Modine rad in Modine box ... with a "defect return" label on it. Box was clearly labeled "INDONESIA"
