I don't know how close your dash is to my 79 - pop off the covers and remove the four retaining screws. The hardest part is trying to get the screwdriver to bite on the screws nearest the windshield. The combination of a short and 90 degree one worked well.
If its like My 79 just pop out the speaker screen, remove the 4 screws
that hold the speaker in,lift it up,unplug the 2 speaker wires and thats it.
But wait,I forgot We are working on a Corvette. The screw closest to
the windshield is a bear to get to.If anyone has ever had the speaker
out that screw probably wont be there.
The left front screw is a PITA since it is so close to the windshield. I'm currently doing my right now. The other problem that you'll need to consider is the size of the speakers. Be sure to make a good cardboard template of the actual opening in the dash and take it with you when you purchase your replacement speakers.
