78 Heater Ground Strap

If it goes to the heater box i dont think it would ground since the box
is fiberglass. There originally was such a ground strap from the cover
over the distibutor to a valve cover bolt. Is Your ignition shielding
covering the dist. still present?

Shield is gone. Looking at the car from the front the smesh strap is attached to the upper right stud in the heater box. About the only place that that thing will reach to ground is the valve cover.

I imagine the end that is now on heater box should be on valve cover
bolt and the other end should go to missing ignition shielding. The dist.
cover had a stud on the pass. side that the ground wire went to and
was held on with a wingnut.
