* jack rear tires off ground, firmly support car
* place THM400 in Neutral
* take White shoe-polish, place stripe across tread of tire at bottom dead-center
* place 6" White stripe long-ways down drive-shaft at bottom dead-center
* rotate tires exactly 10 revolutions, while counting drive-shaft revolutions
* divide drive-shaft revolutions by 10 (almost 31 would be 3.08, 35 & 1/2 would be 3.55, 37 would be 3.70/3.73, etc. )

Exactly what I did!
Actually this is real easy. I did the same with an old Trans Am when I could not figure out the gears. Its easy as you'll know the "ballpark". For example we either have 3.08's, 3.23's, 3.55's, 3.70's etc.....
