I have a 81. has the fuel and return lines from the factory. those that have converted to TPI how did you run/make/rig your fuel line and connections for the TPI unit? Would high pressure fuel injection rubber line work?

suggestions?

Coming out of the tpi what do you have right now?You should have 2 metal lines then going into 2 rubber /metal ended hoses .From there you could add oringed adapter fittings going right to your hardline on the frame, this is what i did.Or you could come off the tpi fuel rail with AN fittings and use aeroquip socketless hose going down to your hardlines on the frame connected with the AN hard tube connectors. The fuel injection hose you get from yourlocal suppliers, i used once, and i ended up blowing a hose and leaking.
this gives you an idea of the stocklines

On an 81 I would find an 82 sending unit. Use high pressure line with the appropriate high pressure clamps at the sending unit. On the other end, for a Vette TPI setup use vette line if available(used in my Vette), or go to the junkyard and get some tubing with appropriate ends from most any late GM car(used in my truck). V6 Lumina and 4-cyl Ciera/Century/Celebrity seem to work well if I recall. Tie the late lines into the existing car lines with hydraulic line unions. To be honest, I have brass unions in mine, but DON'T DO THAT. I am going to change them this winter, they are not made for high pressure. You need a filter in the supply line, you need a flexable hose section between the engine and the frame. Hunt around until you find what you need if possible. Keep rubber sections to a minimum. Good luck with it.
