head out to that car show you've been planning to attend or just call it a day? I don't mind the rain once I reach the show site. But getting there in the rain is a different matter. I always seem to get trapped behind a semi or some other large vehicle throwing up a wall of dirty spray. :(
Re: If it's raining do you still.... (tangee-vette)
Yup! Rain or shine or snow I'll drive 'em. Just takes more time to clean them up later, plus you get more WOW, you drove it in the rain? :jester Which is kinda fun because then they're clearly pansy-a$$-wimps if their sad an lonely corvette is tucked in at home.
If it's raining the vette stays in the garage, if weatherchannel.com's maps shows rain anywhere in the area, the vette stays in the garage. The only time the wipers are used is for my annual state inspection. You can call me **** (or a pansy a$$ whimp) but it takes to much time to clean the under side of the car after it's driven in the rain. :chevy
Re: If it's raining do you still.... (tangee-vette)
Just call me the "pansy-a$$-wimp" who still has a solid frame! :D
Way too many ways to rot out your frame up here in the great white north. The only time this Vette gets wet is when I wash her.
Funny, I will see a C-4 or C-5 out in the slop and think "that is the guy who, 20 years from now, the new owner will be cursing as he tries to restore it!"
Re: If it's raining do you still.... (tangee-vette)
The vette stays in the garage if it starts raining in Ohio, then the Vette is locked high and dry. Plus, there's always the situation you have with trucks and traffic. Too many things(read Crap) gets thrown up from the road or drops off the back of traffic up front. (Ever been behind a tri-axel dump truck hauling stone or fresh hot asphalt Once while crossing at the outer-bridge crossing at staten Island, I got hit by a flying babys high chair that had flown off of a solid waste haulers dump truck. Broke my winshield and nearly gave me heart failure, I thought I got hit with a scud missle. The gray hair I have today is a dricet result of that encounter
So call me wossy, panssy- a$$ or what the heck ever, if it's shacky outside in the weather department, The vette stays locked up. Look at it this way, once your car is damaged by road diarrhea all the "I sorries" in the world arn't going to make up for that damage to the front, sides or roof of your vette? :seeya
Re: If it's raining do you still.... (tangee-vette)
Hi.
Just to let you know that I will only drive my Vette or My Road King IF it is absolutely necessary. I have started bringing my T-Tops with me if there is any chance of rain.
I never drive in the rain, nor do I drive if there is even a hint or threat of rain!!! And just to make sure I don't get tempted...... I refuse to fix my nonfunctioning windshield wipers!!! ... so is it the chicken or the egg? cause or effect ? MJ
If its raining when I want to leave the vette will stay in the garage, mainly because the wipers don't work that well and I've got water leaks around the side window weathersrip. If I get caught out in the rain no big deal.
Re: If it's raining do you still.... (tangee-vette)
Funny, I don't see how GM could get away with building a car that wasn't safe to drive in the rain?!?!?!??! Besides, the windshield wipers on my vette work better than the wipers on my 2000 Toyota 4Runner. :chevy
Re: If it's raining do you still.... (tangee-vette)
As of today.........every thing works on my vette except the vanity mirror light and I have all options on it. No water leaks and wipers work great. I try not to drive my vette in the rain. It takes to much time to clean it up later. :blueangel:
