Should I decided to remove the engine from an 80 vette (L-42) and swap in a new fresh motor (rebuilding the stocker to stock specs) what would be some good, durable, higher hp/tq, cost effective options?

Thanks for the suggestions.

If part of an engine rebuild/refresh:
better flowing Cylinder heads
higher lift camshaft
hypereutectic or forged pistons (flat top with valve relief)
carburetor rebuild/re-jet
ignition recurve (distributor)
K&N air filter
better intake
headers/exhaust system

Well, it may not be cost effective, but it's got your other criteria pretty well covered.

You better hurry though, there are only 4 left.

LS7...if only I had money for it.

I will cruise that website some more here in a bit.

Thanks.

Any other motor builders that give a good price and beefy motor..i.e. they can take a beating.

I am actually about to order my new motor next week. I am going with Jasper Engines based on their reputation. My selection is liiking like one of their class II 383s. Def on the pricey side but I figure my wife is only going to let me do this once!
