I was beginning to think that Haggerty Classic Insurance was too good to be true. The rates are incredibly low, the milage average is higher then the amount of miles I put on in a year and it has an agreed value policy.
The only thing that really bothers me is the low limits on the policy: Liability $40K, uninsured $40K, underinsured $40K. What happens if I hit a Hummer and it's totaled??? That's a $70K+ vehicle! Would I be liable for $30K+ the costs of injuries and the such??? I don't drive my Vette like an idiot, but you never know when someone pulls out in front of you unexpectedly!!
Need advise. My Allstate insurance coverage is for $100K/$300K versus the $40K, but if my car is totalled, they only give me blue book value! :mad
I have Hagerty, underwritten by CNA Ins.Co.
Liability: $100,000.00
Uninsured: $100,000.00
Underinsured: $100,000.00
Plus Agreed Value Coverage, doesn't get any better than this when you consider the low premium. Rick

Are you looking up the quote on line? If so, one the Get a Quote screen there is an option at the top to "select the coverages, click here". Apparently the standard quote screen assumes the state minium coverage. By selecting the "select the coverages" you can then set your own limits.
One more question, he mentioned an "average annual mileage, but never mentioned if there was a maximum mileage. Does anyone know if there is one?
As far as I know there is none. I would think reason would rule here. The insurance is for collector/show cars, not drivers. So if you are driving them 15,000 miles a year there could be an issue. If it is 2,000 to 5,000, that could be within reason. For 1,000 to 1,500 there should not be any question.
They told me there was no limit on the mileage. The restriction is on the use and storage. You can drive all across the country if you're prepared to show (I doubt that they would ask) that it was to attend car shows or events. I even told them that I'll race mine at club sponsored events. They said I wouldn't be covered at any track event, but they still wrote the policy. I'm very pleased with them so far.
I like the look of hagerty's policies, but hate them since they wont insure me since im only 20!:bs I feel like arguing age discrimination to them ....lol :mad
i was interested in changing a few months ago and a friend of mine sells Allstate,so i give him copies of current policies,on my house and 4 cars, and tell me let me know soon, cuz i have to renew and pay up. finally with about 5 days til payment due date,he tells me Allstate doesn't want to insure my corvette. i'm not to happy with Allstate or my friend at this point, and need to check into Haggerty myself.
Gary ... do haggerty and don't look back  I've never seen a bad comment about their service or pay off when a Vette is damaged. I did them and am very happy. I don't remember them even asking my current odometer reading ... did everything over the net other than sending a copy of my other insurance company's declaration for the daily drivers.
Sorry Gary, pretty sorry treatment from Allstate, IMO. They insured my '79 no problem, but I've been with them for 20 years. I'm a fairly low risk as well. I'm looking to go with Hagerty or Grundy because I know that if I have a major claim with the COrvette, Allstate will screw me.
