Default coolant overflow tank '68
Is it true that some C3's ( mine is '68 390/427) did not have overflow tanks at all?

I have a buddy that lives a few streets away ,he has a 68 with air,and no overflow tank.

yes, 68 L-36 did not have an expansion tank. For some strange reason, mine has one. Base engine with A/C didn't have one, base engine without A/C did have one... it depended on engine and options in 68. 69 (and every other year)? was different. Expansion tank not to be confused with overflow tank.

mine is a 70 L-46 350/350 no expansion tank

No overflow/expansion tank on my '68 427/390. According to the NCRS JG, the only 427 option with expansion tank was the L71, L89, and L88.

i have the expansion tank on my 68 with 327 motor no ac no P/S no P/B, 4 speed

69 (late year), 350/300, auto, no expansion tank.
