Lower Ball joint....
Ok, I have 90% of my front suspension apart but I can not get the lower ball joint to separate from the spindle.
I've beat it with a ball joint separator and had no luck......?

I used a tie rod puller - no problem, but WILL give you a scare if you back off the nut too much.

if your replacing the balljoint anyway, I'd just use the picklefork and a bigger hammer.

I use the OTC 7311A puller, loosen the nut until it is flush with the end of the threads, insert a 1/2" piece of bar stock between the nut & the puller screw.... and pop them off. This puller just barely fits in the tight area between ball joints. The OTC 7310A is stronger, but will not fit in the tight space.
There are other pullers that might work as well or better. Those are just the ones that I happen to have.
People say there are issues with heating up the spindle... affects the properties of the metal.

Ok, well I tried a two jaw puller and I broke the dang thing.
I tried a BFH and the pickel fork and all I got was a sore arm.
The upper was no problem but this lower one is a real PITA.
I'm not familiar with the OTC 7311A - can I rent one at AutoZone?

mine took a lot of convincing with a BFH but it came loose, a little heat and penetrating oil will help, I use seafoam deep creep penetrating oil, works great
