78 birdcage
Has anyone replaced the birdcage on a 78? would it be easier to find a rear clip from the firewall back? If you replace the birdcage is their instructions somewhere?

It looks as though I may have some of the same issues as you are looking at with a bad birdcage. When I disscussed this problem with my friend who is a corvette guy and runs a very good body and paint shop locally. He recommended looking for a healthy birdcage and replacing from the firewall back. That was his advise to me in a nutshell. Good Luck. Brent

You can find a good to almost in new condition birdcage in california. There's where I bought mine while doing my frame off. My '78 had a very bad rusted out cage. If you're interested I could give you the address. I paid like 900 usd and it was like new no rust.
