Default help with parking lights

Hey guys, I hope all is well with everyone. I need some help with my parking/tail lights. I noticed the other day when i position the light switch to position 1 (parking light position)...the parking lights and instrument lights do not come on. In position Two- the headlights flip open..but my parking and instrument lights do not work.any suggestions....maybe the switch or a possible fuse...i am not familiar with electrical on a vette. I have a 79 l-82 vette...any help would greatly be appreciated...

If you do a more extensive check and return here and write the symptoms you will be able to get more help.

Meaning:
Interior lights do work without headlights on..
but...
Position 1/(one pull of headlight switch)...lights X,X, and X work.
Position2/(two pulls of the headlight switch)...lights X, X, and X work...but; lights X,X, and X dont work.

If you have headlights and interior lights working at some point...you can almost rule out a fuse because the lights do work.

The tricky part is; do you have a short or a grounding problem...or jsut a switch shorting and ground because it is bad.

Also...check make sure all light bulbs and correctly installed into their sockets, and sockets correctly installed into thier lens.

Write on paper(if need be) and then post about it...your description is a little vague to pinpoint something at this moment.

start by checking fuse to tail lights, tail light fuse feeds tail light
and dash light fuse also.if fuse is blown then check for short.
short being a wire with insulation worn away,or pinched some where.
