Hello all - I want to change my 1980 from automatic to a manual - I heare there is a company out there that sells the complete kit with pedals, linkage, tranny etc. does anyone know who this is?
Keistler Engineering. I have one of their TKO 600 5 speed conversions I am getting read to put onto Ebay $3350 shipped to you if your interested. This is a complete kit with all conversion parts including the pedals for a MT conversion.
I put a Richmond 5 speed in my Auto 76 a few years ago. I didn't find a kit; however, I did use GM's factory clutch mechansim, pedals, bell housing, shift boot, shifter plate, and driveshaft. The tranny came with instructions on how to modify the tranny mount.
Pretty much it was just ordering all the parts out of one of the corvette catelogs. The only aftermarket piece I used was a 90 adapter to make the speedo cable fit better (I think Eckler sells it for the cable driven tach's in earlier C3's).

From what i've read and heard, kiesler is the way to go, and for the extra grand, you will be happier with the six speed. someday this is what i will do.
There are a couple of people making kits now. Keisler is the most well known and I think Classic Chevy is another. If you have the budget, a kit is the way to go. But no matter which way you go, there is a lot of work to do to remove and install. I installed a T5 in mine which meant spending a lot of time finding the parts I needed, but saved a ton of money in the process. I wish I could have gone with Keisler, they are local for me and have a great product.

Keisler Engineering is the only company to offer a COMPLETE auto to 5 speed conversion for your car
Unlike the other companies that offer a Tremec TKO 5 speed for your Vette, with the Keisler PerfectFit conversion you DO NOT HAVE TO REMOVE YOUR ENGINE
Please take a look at the page linked below and give me a call. I would really appreciate the opportunity to help you

Keisler 5 speed Vette #0001
From what I've read there aren't any extra parts you have to buy at all when you get the keisler kit as it comes with everything you need to fit it up just perfectly. Hence the name "Perfect fit."
