question about headers , hearing a pump sound

question about headers , hearing a pump sound

i installed a shorty headers i bough in my stock l48 engine th 350 ytansmission. i have a holley carb, holley street dominator intake and sidepies ( 67 sidepipes adaped). after installing the headers, i ran the car i the motorway. i felt the follwoing.: i was runing at 3000 rmp at about 80 miles per hour., if i stop to gas i start hearing a pump pump pump sound, just wen i let mey feet out of the pedal. pump pump sound in my exhaust.
what can it be , i have some ideas but i dont know if i'm right or witch is the correct.
a.... i have to set timing again
b... too rich at iddle
c.... a pore in the gasket or in the headers, wen the negine retains the is a (flight) it breaths from the small pore.

check to make sure the header are tightened all the way....some times the bolts bottom out before they snug the headers down all the way, especially if there is an accesory bracket in use...
