Default ***QTP Electric Cutout Controller***

Well it looks like we made our even toys more fun to play with.

Introducing the Quick Time Electric Cutout Controller

• Controls up to 2 QTECs
• Calibrates each motor independently and synchronizes their position (open, closed, partial open)
• Automatic close at power up
• Digital status display shows door position
• Manual pushbutton operation for open, close, or partial open
• User configurable partial open position
• Automatically open or close by grounding or not grounding the trigger wire (for use with engine management system)
• Short circuit protection on motor drive electronics
• Fault detection and reporting

Some pics

Here is a small video of it in action. Nothing special the video.

Now this is a working prototype and production will be running shortly.

This will be an option for our product but hooks up to existing QTECs. Just replaces the toggle switch.

Price will be around $100.00.

What do you guys think?

Barry,
Wow, I just learned something. I thought these babies slammed open fast, that is alot slower than thought. I was planning to operate mine by window switch, now I think that might be a waste of time. Any advise.

Any faster would make them unrealiable. You could not have any in between if it was very fast. 4-5 secs is not that long

Interesting!
How well sealed are they when closed?

Barry, I guess I will kill the rpm activation switch idea. Opening at 3500. Since my engine rev's pretty fast, the cutout would not work as desired and would never open fast enough between gears. Back to square one. Any chance of a group purchase on cut outs in the next couple of months.?

Very nice. That is a steal for $100.

I imagine they close slowly because of gearing on the motor? Thats good because you don't want them to flop open from the exhaust pressure.

Do the motors have encoders or pots for the position feedback?

What are you charging for the motor/door assembly?

Prices are listed on our website. The controllers is not ready for shipment yet. Playing around with different options with it. But it will be a $100.00 upgrade. If anyone has any tech questions feel free to call us.

I can vouch for the QTP cutouts. Very cool. If I was looking to do them on my '69 non-power window car I would get a power window style console and use the window switches to run the cutouts. But that new automatic controller is sweet too.

Barry, you may remember me, we met a couple years ago down in Trenton, had lunch at that diner down the street from Mufflex where I had the cutout installed on my '86 coupe. This was the one mod that I made to a bone stock 33,000 mile car and it was well worth it.
