Default Problems after driving

I started driving the vette a bit to blow out the cobwebs, now i'm finding more problems:

#1 Engine won't start when hot (warmed up). It turns over fine and tries to start. After cooling down, it starts right up. I'm thinking starter solonoid or ?

#2 My gas guage is possesed. If flickers fast between way past full and the actual fuel level.

Thanks again for the great forum. I'm learning a ton of stuff about C3s

I would rule out the starter/solenoid being the start up problem, if either has a heat saturation problem the motor simply won't turn over. I would check and see if it's getting fuel and spark while trying to start the car after it's "hot" that should point you in the right direction.

I would check the ground first as far as the fuel gauge goes, then go from there.

"hot start" problems I've had motor won't turn at all , starter refuses to engage , until cool

Engine turns and cranks fine. Gets fuel (holley pro-jection). Ill double check for spark.

How long has the car been sitting? Old gas can be part of the gauge problem as well as the starting problem. Check your fuel filter. A fresh tank of gas may help.

Sorry didn't see the Holley Pro-Jection or other info in your profile. May want to consider updating it so when people try and give suggestions/help they are giving informative information. I'm not very familiar with the ProJection set-ups and how they are tied into the distributor and controlled. I would still do the basics, if it runs after it cools down it would seem like a control module or sensor issue. If it was the coil, usually the car would shut off while it was running and then not start back up right away. I'm also assuming there are no issues with the way the motor runs when it does start.

Something else I just thought of- Have you checked voltage to distrib. fuel pump etc... while trying to start the car? In other words make sure you have ~12 volts to everything requiring it when the motor is turning over. If something does not have the ~12 volts while turning the motor over turn the key to the "ON" position and check for ~12 volts. These are a few suggestions but with the limited information I can't do much else.
