IS IT HARD? I'M THINKING OF EITHER THAT OR DUAL EXAUST. WHATEVER THE FUNDS WILL ALLOW. ANY SUGESSTIONS ON OTHER MODS TO MAKE? JUST LITTLE THINGS RIGHT NOW I DON'T HAVE THE BIG $$$$. THANKS  :chevy
I just installed a set of Headman headers on my '80. They fit really well. A LOT of people on this forum seem to like the quality and price of the Dynomax brand headers. (~$200 w/jet hot coating).
If you really want to keep it cheap, you might want to just perform a really detailed tune up with what you have. . . Just a thought!
I'm one of those with dynomax headers on my 80. Also have dual 2-1/2" exhaust. Installing the headers is certainly within the do-it-yourself mechanics ability. Just need to get the car on jack stands as high as you can and install from under the car. Headers and exhaust will open up the exhaust, but then you will need to consider a better intake to match. Then comes heads and a cam. Start slow but remember that every mod needs to be tuned to other mods you plan to make.
