Electric exhaust cut out
I am working on my exhaust and was thinking about installing one of those electric cut outs to gain more power on a as needed basis.
Does anyone have or use them and your opinions are welcome.

The problem is open speed. It takes 4 to 5 seconds for the QTP's to open. Not sure about the other brands. The ZO6 must use a different system that slams open door in the mufflers.

i have the qtp's installed. they work great and are a fun little toy to have. its best for scaring the import boys at stoplights. it does take about 4 sec. to open/close but its really not a problem. originally i wanted to mount them where the spare tire goes, but opted for the space under the seats, behind the trans x=member. you can definetly notice a hp increase, and the sound is incredible

The opening time is no big deal considering how solid the motor/bracket assembly is. In my opinion its way better than having to get under your car with a wrench everytime you want to open your cutouts.
